“A Fresh Approach to Challenging Conversations in a Post-Roe America”
Thursday, March 16, 7 p.m. - Cassidy Hall
Cocktails. Mocktails. Conversations that Matter.
Live at OLG is a monthly conversation series for young professionals. Imagine a collaboration between a late night show, a cocktail lounge, and the Catholic Church. That’s the vibe at “Live at OLG.”
This month we are engaging in conversation with Emily Albrecht, Director of Education & Outreach at Equal Rights Institute.
Picture yourself hanging out with a friend. You’re sitting in the living room and the conversation turns to abortion. You’re not sure what to say so you try to change the topic. But your friend wants to talk about it. They’re pro-choice. What do you do? Let’s find out. Join us on March 16th in learning how to have effective and charitable conversations with friends, family, and even strangers about abortion.
Emily Albrecht comes ready to equip us with 1) useful pro-life arguments, 2) skills in having difficult conversations with those who have different opinions (on any topic), and 3) share with us our role as Catholic laypeople in the pro-life movement.
Emily is an expert in fostering respectful and productive dialogues regarding abortion. As a recent college graduate, Emily understands what it feels like to walk unprepared into a culture that is overwhelmingly pro-choice. She was faced daily with challenges to the pro-life position that she didn’t know how to answer, and she was afraid to speak out. She wants to equip pro-life advocates with the tools to intimately understand and articulate their pro-life convictions in a productive and compassionate manner.
