Here at OLG our  High School Youth Ministry (anyone who has been confirmed in 8th-12th grade) is meant to engage young people where they are at in their journey to respond to the ultimate call of all of our lives: the call to be an intentional disciple of God.

In all of our ministires we bring the Gospel to young people by the art of living well - and it begins and ends with Christ. There are so many places here at OLG for everyone to get involved in order to share their gifts.  Contact us today to see where God is calling you!

LifeNight's are a mixture of faith and fun, and are open to everyone who is in high school! Each LifeNight has a fun game, a testimony or teaching about a different topic of our faith, discussion, and closing prayer.

At LifeNights you will be able to talk about a variety of issues and experiences with friends and young adult leaders so that together you can grow in faith and discover how a relationship with God will help you have the best life possible! This is an incredible time to connect with friends and God in the midst of our busy lives. Check out our calendar for the 2020/2021 School Year!

LifeNight on 2/3/2021 from 7:30-9PM
The goal of One Moment is to educate teens on the issues of poverty and homelessness within their communities, while broadening their perspective on the dignity and place of the poor.

LifeNight on 2/10/2021 from 7:30-9PM
The goal of this Life Night gives both teens and their families an opportunity to break open the season of Lent, specifically the theme of sacrifice. It also challenges the teens and families to create a Lenten prayer plan. THIS is also our Mardi Gras Party as well! We will be playing some fun games as well!

The Bible in a Year Podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz
In The Bible in a Year podcast, Fr. Mike Schmitz walks you through the entire Bible in 365 episodes, providing commentary, reflection, and prayer along the way. Unlike any other Bible podcast, Ascension’s Bible in a Year podcast follows a reading plan inspired by The Great Adventure Bible Timeline, a ground-breaking approach to understanding salvation history developed by renowned Catholic Bible teacher, Jeff Cavins. With this podcast, you won’t just read the Bible in a year, you’ll finally understand how all the pieces of the Bible fit together to tell an amazing story that continues in your life today! The Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz is currently the #1 podcast in the nation! See more here...

O Come Let Us Adore Him
We are very excited to share with you that the weekend of January 16-17, during all Masses, we will be inviting all members of the OLG community to prayerfully consider signing up for a weekly Holy Hour in the Adoration Chapel. During Masses, we will focus on the truth of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

During Christmas, we celebrated Emmanuel, meaning “God with us.” God is truly with us in the Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament. Come, let us give Him all praise, honor, glory and thanksgiving through a weekly Holy Hour in Adoration! Please join us in praying for an increase in devotion to Jesus, Truly Present in the Blessed Sacrament. See more here....

Giving Trees - Thank You!
Our theme as a parish this past year has been “JOY,” and we have seen that truly embraced this Advent and Christmas season. A beautiful example of this is the response to the 2020 Giving Tree.

We are so grateful for all of you who brought in gifts, cash, and gift cards to help those in need! We were able to collect almost 50 gifts for residents of Haven Housing and teens at Mary’s Place, 40 baby items for Abria, and 501 pairs of socks for residents of the Minneapolis VA Home. In addition to these gifts, parishioners generously contributed over $11,775 in cash and gift cards, which will benefit JPII Catholic School, and our sister parishes of St. Joseph’s in Ghana and San Max in Honduras. A big thank you to all who participated! Our neighbors’ lives are easier thanks to your generosity.
