Consecration to Jesus Through Mary

Tuesdays, April 30 - June 6,
10:00 - 11:30 AM in the Parish Library

Join us for this exciting 6-week preparation for Consecration. The act of consecrating oneself "to Jesus through Mary" is a new beginning in one's spiritual journey, a fresh start that can change everything, a new way of life in Christ. We prepare ourselves as we read, ponder and discuss Fr. Michael Gaitley's book 33 Days to Morning Glory. Contact Maureen Wong at 952-927-0089 or maureenw0089@gmail.com for more information or to register.

About the Book:

From Fr. Michael E. Gaitley, MIC, author of the bestselling book Consoling the Heart of Jesus, comes an extraordinary 33-day journey to Marian consecration with four giants of Marian spirituality: St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, and Blessed John Paul II.

Fr. Michael masterfully summarizes their teaching, making it easy to grasp and simple enough to put into practice. More specifically, he weaves their thought into a user-friendly, do-it-yourself retreat that will bless even the busiest of people.

So, if you've been thinking about entrusting yourself to Mary for the first time or if you're simply looking to deepen and renew your devotion to her, 33 Days to Morning Glory is the perfect retreat to make.

OLG Small Groups Living Faith and Life Together

Small Groups draw adults into transformative friendship with Jesus and with one another.

A small group consists of 6-12 people gathered around the Word of God for friendship, spiritual growth, and prayer.

There are a variety of groups meeting different days and time.  Find one that works for you!

If you don’t find one that fits please contact Jessica Balzarini or click here for details on Small Groups at OLG.

During the Lenten season we had over 250 parishioners and friends are participate in the small groups. Our Parish offers a heartfelt thank you to the small group leaders.  These dedicated leaders have been committed to our Archdiocesan movement of evangelization this Lent. Our hope is that this is the first spark at OLG that desires to build a culture of small groups growing in faith together.

Divine Mercy

Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7, 2023

Join us for our Divine Mercy Celebration on Sunday, April 7, with Holy Hour from 3:00 - 4:00 PM in the Commons with refreshments!

They Holy Hour will be in the main Church and includes Opening/Closing Benediction, Homily on Divine Mercy, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.  All Parishioners are invited and encouraged and most welcome to attend.

Divine Mercy Sunday was officially decreed by the Vatican and declared both a Universal Feast Day and an opportunity for a Plenary Indulgence by St. John Paul II on April 30, 2000 at the Canonization of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska. St. Faustina received visions which stated that His Merciful Love is so great that no sinner, no matter how wretched, need fear to come to His Mercy. (Diary #723) Join us on Divine Mercy Sunday to celebrate His Great Mercy.

Plenary Indulgence

Leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday, we are invited to participate in the Plenary Indulgence of Divine Mercy, which offers forgiveness of sins and punishment for those who receive Holy Communion on that Sunday, go to Confession within 10 days of Divine Mercy Sunday, and pray for the intentions of the JHoly Father. More information on Indulgences can be found on the USCCB website.

The Divine Mercy Novena:

In her vision, Jesus gave St. Faustina the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as a prayer of atonement with nine intentions (to be prayed over 9 days) for the appeasement of God's wrath (Diary #474). Those who recite it offer to God "the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of [His] dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world."

The 9-day Novena begins on Good Friday, April 7, and ends the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday, April 15. Paper guides are available in the commons.

I invite you this Lenten season to carve out a few extra minutes every week to be still before God in our Adoration Chapel. Yes, come with all your concerns and worries; come with all your hopes and desires; come with all your fears and unmet dreams; come with all your sin and what burdens you down; come as you are. But most importantly simply come with your heart. Place it all before Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament. Quietly sit in His presence. Gaze upon Him as He tenderly gazes upon you.

In Christ,
Father Kevin Finnegan
