REINHARDT, Robert Gene “Bob,” age 85 of St. Louis Park, MN (originally of Nelson, WI), died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 28, 2022. Survived by wife of 65 years, Janice (Serum), and children Perry (Jerilyn) Reinhardt, Dn. Jim (Nadine) Reinhardt, Jennifer (John) Theis, Brian (Anne) Reinhardt, and Bill (Carolyn) Reinhardt. Bob had 29 grandchildren: Kristi (Jake) Buckley, Jake (Kaylin) Neidenfeuhr; Maggie (Kevin) Pittelko, Mike Reinhardt, Bob (Glenna) Reinhardt, Joe (Jane) Reinhardt; Ben (Kathleen) Reinhardt, Mary (Matt) Brickweg, Charlie (Theresa) Reinhardt, Becca (Peter) Coleman, Liz (Josh) Arachtingi, Clare (Tommy) Whalen, Sarah (Tom) Olson, Thomas Reinhardt, Andrew Reinhardt, Sam Reinhardt; Jacob, Abby, Anna, Joe Theis; Eddie, Bobby, Johnny Reinhardt; Dan, Jane, Peter, Laura, Marie Reinhardt; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Patrice and her husband Tom Neidenfeuhr, grandson, Robbe Neidenfeuhr, parents, Bill and Alvina (Timm) Reinhardt and sister, Joyce Linse.
Bob spent over 40 years working as a customer service engineer for IBM. Although he was an award-winning, hard-working employee, his career was not his top priority in life. His faith and family were his pride and joy. Bob instilled in each of his six children the love of God, love of family and love of God’s creation. Bob loved to travel. After taking his children camping throughout the lower 48 United States and Canada, he began exploring the world with his beloved wife, Jan. Together they traveled to most of the continents and many countries in each of them. Bob had an insatiable curiosity that kept him asking questions and learning new things even after he stopped traveling.
Throughout their 65 years of marriage, Bob and Jan have been a shining example of what it means to be a family, to live with faith and to serve others as Jesus served. They have been wonderful role-models as parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. They have attended more school programs and sporting events than one could count. They have taught us to persevere through good times and bad, sickness and health. Together, they have weathered storms of illness and death with grace as they endured the loss of their son-in-law, Tom, daughter, Trice and grandson, Robbe. Through the difficult times, Bob kept the faith as he journeyed toward his true goal of eternal life.
Although Bob leaves a huge void in many lives, we can rejoice with him as he embarks on his final journey to meet our Lord face-to-face.
The Funeral Mass is set for Friday, March 4, 10:30 a.m. (visitation at 9:30 a.m.) at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Ave, Edina, MN.
