Despite the fact that the whole Frassati Room/school/church smelled like burned popcorn and Lysol we had a blast on Wednesday! At  LifeNight we were blessed to get to hear from Tyler! It was such a great blessing getting to hear about his faith and life! Then we really dove into Ash Wednesday - what it means for us, and the importance of fasting. We then got into discussion groups to really dive into what God is calling up to this upcoming Lent.  We finished everything off with Praise and Worship in the Church.  God bless and don't forget! Ash Wednesday is next week, so NO LifeNight! Check this video out! Last night at LifeNight we had a great night talking about our faith and what it means to live it out in a world that can be hard on Christians. "St. Paul, in the letter to the Hebrews, calls us to be "people of whom the world is not worthy of." What does this mean? What does it mean to be authentically Catholic - and authentically YOU - for a woman living in the modern world? Who Can be a Peer Minister?

Any fully initiated Catholic high school students who wants to deepen his or her faith in the fellowship of other Catholic Teens

What does it take to be a Peer Minister?

A willingness and desire to share their faith and serve in their community.

What does Peer Ministry Do?

• Service events

• Retreats

• Participate in Youth Ministry events

• Assist with younger youth in their faith journey

• Share in the faith lives of other Catholic teens

• Worship God together

• Eat free food

What will I get out of Peer Ministry?

• An experience to deepen one's faith

• Fellowship of devout Catholic Teens

• Life-changing service opportunities

• A one-of-a-kind experience to become closer to God in community of amazing Catholics.

LifeNight's are a mixture of faith and fun, and are open to everyone who is in high school! Each LifeNight has a fun game, a testimony or teaching about a different topic of our faith, discussion, and closing prayer.

At LifeNights you will be able to talk about a variety of issues and experiences with friends and young adult leaders so that together you can grow in faith and discover how a relationship with God will help you have the best life possible! This is an incredible time to connect with friends and God in the midst of our busy lives.

Items to Note:

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time to complete registration. For safety reasons, we also require you wear closed toed shoes and remove all jewelry.  SecondHarvest Heartland advises volunteers with food allergies to exercise caution when determining whether or not to participate in food packing.

As the group leader we ask you to:

• Fill out the roster for all volunteers in your group and return it to us atvolunteer@2harvest.org

• Review the Group Resources page for the Group Leader Checklist

• Take note of our important youth guidelines and ensure all youth volunteers come with a signed parental waiver

• Contact us for any cancellations or changes in your group size one week prior to the shift.

Consider a donation - a gift of $25 provides food for a family of 4 for a week.
