Faith, Science, Youth - a call for an ambitious Climate Summit

A Climate Ambition Summit will be held on Saturday 12th December, date that coincides with the 5th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. According to the UK government the summit will: “provide a platform for leaders ready to come forward with announcements under the three pillars of the Paris Agreement; mitigation, adaptation and support”. In the context of the current pandemic, such a bold ambition voice for climate action is becoming more and more relevant especially looking at all efforts done to shape policies at national, regional, international level for a just and sustainable recovery.
The aim of this webinar is to urge governments to raise ambition through a faith and science voice. This is part of Pope Francis’ commission on the response to COVID-19 and building on faiths’ contributions to reach the Paris Agreement in 2015.

Speakers:
- Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, environmental activist and coordinator of the Association of Peul Women and Autochthonous Peoples of Chad (AFPAT)
- Prof. John Schellnhuber, Founding director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and member of the Integral Ecology task force of the Vatican Covid-19 Commission
- H.E. Cardinal Peter K.A Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and representing the Vatican Covid19 Commission

LifeNight Online - Restore

The goal of this Life Night is for us all to understand that Christ is present to them in our brokenness and heals our bodies and souls in the Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation.

LifeNight's are a mixture of faith and fun, and are open to everyone who is in high school! Each LifeNight has a fun game, a testimony or teaching about a different topic of our faith, discussion, and closing prayer.

At LifeNights you will be able to talk about a variety of issues and experiences with friends and young adult leaders so that together you can grow in faith and discover how a relationship with God will help you have the best life possible! This is an incredible time to connect with friends and God in the midst of our busy lives. Check out our calendar for the 2019/2020 School Year!

Can’t make our LifeNights on Wednesday night? Don’t worry! We have another option!

On our Wednesday night LifeNights we will record our teaching and prayer of the night. Then on the following Thursday evening we will watch the video together over zoom, and have our SG online! Make sure you register here, because each week I’ll send out the ZOOM code to registered families.

Our Online LifeNights has resources, activities, and links to help our youth take that next step in faith right now, at home, or on the go!

Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.

Thank you for all the graces and blessings. You have bestowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another, our family and friends.
