Mission Home

This Summer OLG Youth traveled around the Twin Cities serving those in need in our community. We could be found doing anything from gardening all the way to bringing communion to those in need. Our motto was that You don't need to travel thousands of miles to be the hands and feet of Jesus" and BECAUSE Mission Home this summer was such an amazing experience... we didn't want it to end!

Soooooooo now we have Mission Home all year round! For more information click here

LifeNight Wrap-up! October 3rd

IMG_6091.jpg

Last night was our SECOND LifeNight of the year!  We opened up the night by playing one of our favorite games- Word Smoothie! You can see all of the fun we had above! We then entered into prayer with Lectio Divina using Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 "Everything Has Its Time". We then watched a video from Father Mike about what it means to LIVE in the present moment. During small group we really went into what it means for us to live in the right now. Check out our questions below!

- What stage of life/season do you wish you were in? Why?
- What stage of life/season are you in RIGHT now?
-What is it like for you to be patient? Is it easy, hard, don't really notice it? Why or why not?
- What is your work of the day? What does God want you to work on RIGHT now?
- What do you think about the "Sacrament of the Present" moment?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 Everything Has Its Time
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break  down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate;a time for war, and a time for peace

LifeNight Wrap-up! 9/26

Last night was our FIRST LifeNight of the year! It was great getting to meet everyone AND get some amazing cupcakes! For our first LifeNight we learned about who Pier Giorgio Frassati was- we watched a great video about getting to know him and then entered into some small group time where we went over these questions:

- If you had to describe what/who a Saint was... how would you?
- What Saint do you most identify with? Don't have one that you identify with? Why?
-Frassati often said that he wanted to "Live, not exsist." He wanted to live in a full way, because he knew that God made us to go to the top. What do you think about that?
- Frassati lived his life in surrender. Surrendering to his family. Surrendering to God.  What does it mean to you to surrender How do you surrender to God in your life?
