Deacon Mike McGinty was appointed Head of School at Our Lady of Grace School in June, 2022. Mike is a Minneapolis native and lives with his wife, Jean, in Maple Grove. Jean and Mike have been married for 37 years and have 6 children and 2 grandchildren, both of which attend Our Lady of Grace School.
Before working at Our Lady of Grace, Mike was the Associate Director for Catholic School Operations at the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis providing leadership and mentorship to pastors and school leaders. Mike has an impressive span of 17 years as a Catholic school leader in both the elementary and high school levels. He has held leadership roles as both assistant principal and principal as well as vice president and director of advancement. Before working in Catholic education, Mike spent 20 years working in corporate and professional settings in the fields of finance, sales, application development, and management. Mike holds a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota as well as a Masters of Education Administration and Principal Licensure from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. He is also a graduate of the Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute, and he was ordained into the diaconate on December 9, 2023 with the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Mike firmly believes that Catholic schools work in partnership with parents and the community to provide a nurturing environment that promotes our children’s faith and academic growth. He is most excited by working closely with students, teachers, staff, and parents to build on the strengths of OLG and to work together to continue to advance our mission of making Jesus Christ known and loved.
