Grief Support

Starts Thursday, January 2, 2025
4:30 - 6:00 PM | Frassati Room

Thursdays, January through March

Coping with the death of a loved one can be one of the most difficult challenges we face. Understanding the grief process and sharing with other individuals in a supportive and caring environment can lead to acceptance, personal growth and recovery.

We invite all those experiencing grief to join the Edina Coalition for Grief Support series held at OLG January through March in the Frassati room. Each session begins with presentations from professionals, followed by small groups for support and connection. Groups are organized by individual loss: spouse loss, child loss, family/friend loss and are led by trained facilitators.

You may join at anytime during a series. All are welcome. No registration is required. Click here for more details.

Contact Bonnie Cool with any questions at 612-382-6504.

Into the Depths Speaker Series

Date: Tuesday, January 7, 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Speaker: Dr. Pamela Patnode
Title:  What is the Eucharist and Why Should I Care?

Many of us recognize that the Lord’s Day and the Eucharist are important – or, at least, they are supposed to be. But in all honesty, it can be hard to know how to fit them into our busy lives. This presentation takes a Biblical look at the Eucharist and the Sabbath, and offers practical ideas for busy people to honor the Lord’s Day with greater intention. In addition, current research will be shared that shows the surprising connections between worship and overall happiness and well-being. Come learn about the Eucharist and why it matters in our daily lives. (for teens and adults).

Please register by filling out the form below. If you have questions, contact Jessica Balzarini.

First Saturday Devotions

First Saturdays of the month at 8:45 AM
OLG Church and Dining Room

Join us on the first Saturdays (October through May) as we pray the rosary, go to Mass and confession, and meditate on the mysteries of the rosary.

Schedule:
8:30 AM: Mass (Church)
9:00 AM: Confessions and Rosary (Church)
Refreshments and fellowship in the Dining Room until 11:30 AM.

Background on this event: Our Lady promised to Sr. Lucia, one of the visionaries, that she would assist, at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation if we do the following with the intention of making reparation to Mary for the offenses committed against her. For five consecutive months on the first Saturday: attend Mass and receive Holy Communion, recite a five decade Rosary, go to Confession seven days before or after, and meditate on one of the 15 mysteries of the rosary while keeping Our Lady company for 15 minutes.

Young Professionals Monthly Holy Hour

First Thursday of Every Month

Next Holy Hour: Thursday, January 2
Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location: Our Lady of Grace, Edina

Young professionals (ages 21 - 35) gather for an hour of Adoration, Confessions, and song. A light social in the Commons follows.

"Attending ‘Holy Hour at OLG’ was a breath of fresh air! Dozens of candles lit up the Church and surrounded the monstrance as we gathered together. For an hour we lifted up our voices in song and our hearts in prayer. I felt at home with this group of young professionals praising and worshipping our Lord. Fr. Kevin graciously made himself available for confessions, staying until the last person was finished. After our time of prayer, song, and meditation, we were invited to the Commons for a social. Beer, Wine, Seltzers, and snacks were available while we were able to connect with friends and other young professionals." ~ Elizabeth Felsheim, OLG Young Professional/Parishioner
