Survived by daughter Cori (Mary C) Viehman and son in law Ed Viehman, son Brian J Carl, and her beloved grandchildren Katy Ramme (Michael Ramme), Miles Nielsen (Jocelyn), Brennan and Fallyn Carl and great grandchildren Mick and Madelynn Ramme.
The 16th of 17 children born to LH and Helen Cott Kinsel, Omaha, NE, she married the love of her life, Jim, and began married life at Travis AFB in Vacaville, CA. Following the birth of their first son Mark, Nancy and Jim moved to Minnesota and raised Mark, Cori, Brian and Jay in New Hope. A fierce proponent of Catholic education, Mom stood in the early morning sign up line at St Raphael’s in Crystal every August to ensure her children were enrolled, as well as crunching the budget so she and Dad could send their kids to Benilde and Grace High Schools.
Nancy and Jim and the boys moved to the Seattle, WA area in the early 1980s and they loved the Pacific Northwest. No snow or hot humid days! Given her large extended family, both in the Kinsel and Carl clans, Nancy had many, many beloved nieces and nephews from all parts of the US, who loved to visit her and visit with her.
Unfortunately, Mom began to exhibit symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to live on her own so we packed her up and moved her home to Minnesota. She resided at St Therese New Hope and Oxbow Brooklyn Park and was a favorite of both the residents and staff.
Nancy was a devout Catholic and loved Our Lord and Blessed Mother and was so happy to have received the Sacrament of the Sick, make her final Confession and receive Communion while in the hospital which eased and comforted her.
So many thank yous to the caring and supportive staff and providers at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale and St Therese Health. Your wonderful care is appreciated. Memory Eternal, Mom.
