Joyce Quinn, age 89 of Edina formerly of Plymouth, MN passed away August 18, 2024. She joins her loving husband, John; grandson, Quinn; brothers, Mike, George, Dusan, Sammy & sister, Milka. Joyce is survived by daughter, Kelly; son-in-law Kyle; grandsons, Jack (Grace), Connor & Ryan; sisters, Lillian & Marion, & many friends.
Joyce was born on the Iron Range to Serbian immigrants Darinka & Peter Markovich. As the youngest child, she was doted on by her older siblings. After graduating from Nashwauk High School, she received both her undergraduate & masters degrees in education from the University of Minnesota. She was proud of her 35 years in the Robbinsdale School District: it was there she met many of her closest friends.
Throughout her life, Joyce loved traveling, reading, cooking, golfing, volunteering, playing bridge, doing crosswords, & basking in the sunshine. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandsons & sisters. Most of all, she loved John & their life together: she deeply mourned his sudden passing in 1999.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church in Edina on Wednesday, August 21 at 10:30 AM, with visitation one hour prior. Private Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to St. John Paul II Catholic School or Our Lady of Grace School.
