Funeral Mass Monday, November 7, 10:30 AM

John Edmund Kirchner of Edina passed away on October 29th at age 84 in the arms of his wife of 61 years. John was born on May 13th, 1936 in Atwood, Kansas. He attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City and was a proud Eagle Scout. Regis University in Denver, CO followed where he earned degrees in Math and Physics and met his wife Mary Dascher. Together they started their life in Beaufort, SC where he became a United States Marine Corps Pilot and Officer. After his time in the Marines, John went on to hold numerous executive positions in the Information Technology industry. John’s career brought him, his wife and their then growing family around the country to numerous cities before settling in Edina, MN, where they have remained for 46 years. Their early years were spent together with their sons camping, skiing in the mountains of Colorado, and simple things like playing basketball and pickle ball in the driveway. Later years were spent traveling to Europe, as well as many road trips all over the US, visiting family and friends they had met throughout their lives. John was a friend of Bill and Bob. John is survived by his wife Mary, sons;  Kevin (Catherine), Mark (Betsy), Patrick (Anne), Edmund (Lisa), and Thomas (former daughter-in-law Marlo); grandchildren Kelsey Conway (Tom), Allison Ellis (Mike), John, Kathryn, Katie, Wesley, Maggie, Peter, Gabi, Izzy, two great grandchildren, George and Claire Conway and siblings Mary Jane Nugent (Hugh) of Alexandria, VA and Elizabeth Krisor (Ed) of Denver, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Teresa. He will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation on Friday, November 6th from 4 PM to 7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, and Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 7th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Edina, MN.

Covid-19 prevention practices will be in place for both the visitation as well as the Funeral.

Private Burial at Saint John’s Abbey Cemetery, Collegeville, MN.

Memorials preferred to The Robert T. Cassidy Endowment at Our Lady of Grace and/or Regis University.
