Take a moment to read the Mass readings for this week and reflect on the reading as a family using the questions and printable activity sheets below.

Weekly Reflection Questions - For Families with Kids

  1. What is the name for today, according to the Church calendar? (Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion) 

  2. How many gospel passages were read today? (2, one during the procession with palms and one as the highpoint of the Liturgy of the Word, just before the homily) 

  3. What stories are told in the gospel just before the homily? (e.g. Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the betrayal by Judas, Peter’s 3-fold denial of Jesus, Jesus’ trial before Pontius Pilate, Jesus’ journey to his death [Stations of the Cross], Jesus’ death and burial in the tomb) 

  4. What did the people in the crowd ask Pontius Pilate to do? (Crucify Jesus) 

  5. What is the name for this last week of Lent? (Holy Week) 

  6. As a family, talk about how your Lenten sacrifices have strengthened your faith and deepened your love for Jesus.
