Read & Reflect

The story of Jesus healing the man born blind is truly a miracle! Take a moment to read the Mass readings for this week and reflect on the reading as a family using the questions and printable activity sheets below.

Weekly Reflection Questions

  1. Imagine what it would like to be blind. Have a family discussion about what you would miss the most if you could no longer see.

  2. What do you think Jesus meant when he said: “Neither he nor his parents sinned; it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him.”?

  3. Do you think the blind man in the story is the only person Jesus helps to see?

  4. How can you share Jesus’ message with others to help them see God’s works?

The Suitcase: A Story About Giving by Jane Meyer

Zeal and excitement are a part of every child. This picture book celebrates a young boy's enthusiasm to put into practice the words of Christ: to feed and clothe the poor, help the needy, and love one's neighbor.

As Thomas shows his family the items he has packed into his suitcase after hearing a stirring homily at church, they marvel at his inventiveness and loving heart—he is traveling to the Kingdom of Heaven, and he knows what it takes to get there! Thomas and his family figure out a way, with his suitcase, to accomplish the goal that Thomas is so excited about: to arrive at the Kingdom.

Catholic Icing

If you’re looking for Catholic craft ideas for kids, you’ve come to the right place! I founded Catholic Icing in 2009 after becoming frustrated at the lack of Catholic ideas for children online, and have been posting crafts, recipes, and hands-on ideas ever since! It is my mission to bring Christian fun to families on the internet for free, and I am always working on adding to my library of Catholic crafts!
