Ferdinand Hendrik Van Maele Funeral

Ferdinand Hendrick Van Maele, 88, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 2, 2022. He passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by his family during an extended stay at Methodist Hospital.

Ferdinand (affectionately known as "Fred") was born in Roeselare, Belgium on October 23, 1933. He proudly served in the Belgium Army and after receiving an honorable discharge, he emigrated to the United States, becoming a US Citizen on St. Patrick's Day 1956. Fred met and married the love of his life on June 12, 1970. Together they had three daughters. Fred was a loyal, hard working man. He worked for two employers during his 40 years of employment, taking part time work when needed to put his girls through college. Fred was a fun-loving person and had a tender heart. He enjoyed his Michigan State Spartans football, he loved helping his family, relatives and friends and he cherished the companionship of animals especially the numerous cats and dogs that his girls adopted over the years.

Ferdinand is survived by his wife Shirley of 52 years, daughters Barbara (Michael) Mercer, Donna Kelly (Richard Klaus) and Linda Van Maele; grandson Brendan Mercer; sister-in-law, Constance Bak; niece Anne Marine, nephews Michael, Robert and Geoffrey Bak and other extended family. Ferdinand was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to everyone.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother Victor and Emma Van Maele; his Father and Mother-in-Law Frank and Bernice Sass; and his Sister-in-Law Patricia Sass.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, August 11th with visitation one hour prior, all at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Ave, Edina. Memorial donations may be made is his memory to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Patricia Kay Langer Funeral

Langer, Patricia Kay Age 80 of Edina. Passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2022. Survived by loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Henry; children, Tim (Karma) Langer, Sarah (Atsushi) Takagi, Phillip Langer; grandchildren Autumn, Addie & Pierce Langer; Aika & Mika Takagi; siblings, Anne and Ray Pierce. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Lucille Pierce; sister, Donna Thein. Patricia was a piano teacher for more than 55 years. She was recently inducted into the Steinway Hall of Fame for her extraordinary passion and love of music which she shared with family, as well as countless students and colleagues. She ensured that the gift of music was brought to the highest level in every child. Her love for her husband brought her joy and adventure as they walked through life. Everyone knew when they came to her home the joy she had for her gardens and making Lebanese food. Together with her loving husband, people knew they were always welcome at the Langer home. Gary Lyons Funeral

Lyons, Gary age 84, of Hopkins, MN went home to the Lord July 29th after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. An ardent Catholic, from Burlington IA, he graduated from Marquette University where he met his wife Jane and many friends. Working in management for JCPenney took them to Elgin IL, Golden Valley and Duluth, where they lived for 30 years. The Glenn Hopkins was home the last four years. Gary loved his family and was a big supporter of kids' and grandkids' activities, including coaching baseball for many years. He loved music, entertaining, camping, the family cabin, travelling, playing cards and great times with friends. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins fan, even throwing out the first pitch for a game. He was active in the Lions Club, Serra Club (a Catholic vocation ministry), and many parish endeavors. He will be remembered for his love of people and ability to make others laugh.

Gary was preceded in death by infant daughter Mary Beth, and parents Harold and Virginia Lyons. He is survived by devoted wife of 60 years, Jane, children Mark (Barbara), Therese Cassidy (AJ), Bob, sister Mary Hartwell, eight grandchildren: Hannah, Emma (David) Que, Katie, Rachel, Charlotte, Kelly, Ginny and Andrew and two nieces.
