Shirley Dolan Funeral

Wednesday, September 18, 2024 | 11:00 AM

Dolan, Shirley Ann, age 77, lived a full, blessed life with her loving family. She passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents Levi and Ida Enos, brother Bob Enos, sister-in-law Irene Enos and daughter Kathleen Dolan. She is survived by her longtime husband Dennis Dolan, her son Steve Dolan (Nicole), daughter Susie Laird (Chris), daughter Katie Fitzpatrick (Matt), brother Wayne Enos, sister-in-law Dru Enos, her treasured grandchildren: Jack (Jenna), Tim, Pete, Sean, Molly, Michael, Rosie, Lucas and Frankie, and many relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Shirley was born and raised in St. Paul, MN, with her two brothers - all notably 10 years apart in age. Shirley attended Holy Spirit Catholic School, Our Lady of Peace High School and St. Mary's Nursing School. While in nursing school, she met Dennis at a nurses' mixer - and it was love at first sight!

As an adult, Shirley was a longtime resident of Bloomington, MN, where she raised her active family of three children. She was a devoted wife (recently celebrating 56 years of marriage on August 31), mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed. She always put her family and faith first and was a devout Catholic who passionately supported Catholic education. She was a hardworking, empathetic and successful apartment owner and manager for 23 years. Throughout her life, Shirley loved being a homemaker, cooking, gardening, sewing, swimming, researching her ancestry, creating family photo albums, and following her kids and grandkids' sports activities and accomplishments.

Shirley was known for being nice, sweet (and a sweet tooth - loved chocolates), thoughtful, kind, selfless, hardworking, organized, handy (coming from a family of carpenters), tough (never one to complain even during the hardest days), patient and upbeat. She brought so much joy to others and was loved by everyone who knew her.

A wake and celebration of life will be held for Shirley on Tuesday, September 17, 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel (2300 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN).

A funeral Mass and lunch will take place on Wednesday, September 18 at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Church, with a visitation at 10:00 AM. Memorials preferred to Nativity of Mary School in Bloomington and the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to the University of Minnesota Medical Center 4E Neuro ICU physicians and nurses who provided excellent medical care to Shirley.
