Thursday, April 21, 1:30 AM

Born April 12, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN.  Passed away peacefully April 16, 2021, at the age of 89. Preceded in death by parents Leo and Agnes Carlin, brothers Tom Carlin and Bing Carlin, sister Patricia Carlin, niece Sara Carlin, and nephew Paul Carlin.  Survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Seidel Sr., son Jim Seidel Jr. and his wife Annie, granddaughters Maggie and Molly, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lucia was the most wonderful spouse, mother, grandmother, sibling, aunt, and friend.  She was the loveliest of ladies with a kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, immense trust in God, and deep love for her family.  Lucia graduated from Annunciation grade school, Holy Angels high school, and the College of St. Catherine.  She worked as a kindergarten teacher in the Saint Paul public school system and as a substitute teacher at Burroughs Elementary School in Minneapolis, prior to becoming a mother.  Later in life, Lucia served on the boards of the Minneapolis League of Catholic Women, St. Therese of New Hope Nursing Homes, the St. Thomas Academy Mothers Club, as an active advocate for NET Ministries, and she is a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.  Lucia had the special gift of hospitality and conversations with her made you feel appreciated, encouraged, and loved.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her as she is now welcomed to the greatest celebration of all by God’s grace.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, participation in the private Mass of Christian Burial will only be by online livestream, not by attending in person.  The livestream will occur on Thursday, April 22, at 1:30pm below.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Our Lady of Grace Fr. Robert T. Cassidy Endowment Fund.
